This Knife is what I want to carry when I´m hunting game in the Backcountry!
I completely modified this skinner blade blank made from high carbon steel by Green River Knives, a company around since the 1830s that you would have found traded and in use among tribes and trappers alike in North Americas wilderness as well as in most hunting cabins!
I always loved the curve, flat grind and excellent slicing abilities of these knives, but the crude handles didn´t feel quite right...
I forced a patina on this blade, to keep it from rusting, but this will create an even nicer patina over time when butchering meet and fish.
The handle was shaped with best ergonomics for skinning and gutting in mind.
The clipped tip of the knife keeps it from puncturing hides and torsos, when skinning but sharp tip has great piercing capabilities.
I also added a ricasso choil like on all my knives for easier sharpening and esthetics.
The Deepcarry Sheath is made from Swedish Veg Tan leather with embossed stitch line.
Hand stiched using awl and needle, with the best thread there is for longevity and strength... German Tiger Thread.
