A well made Slojd knife is an incredibly versatile tool and thus in use by cultures around the globe as go to craft knife.
This knife I made from 1084 carbon steel has a proven shape and size, lending itself perfectly to spooncarving, detail carving on bowls, cutting leather and materials for basket weaving, etc.
The grind is slightly different from other slojd blades, as it combines an extreme scandi edge of 15 degrees with micro convexed edge for the best of sharpness and edge retention!
The spine is rounded for more comfortable pivot and push style carving!
The octagonal shapes handle with ergonomic thumb scallops is my favourite style of handle! Blending into the folds and corners on the inside of your fist, it prevents unwanted sliding and turning that makes you grip the knife too hard resulting in fatigue and blisters.
´The handle has a tried and tested dowel construction and is made from my favorite handle material, canadian birdseye maple!
