The last of my old Swayback Slöjd blades went into a project I wanted to complete a long time ago.
So, a few months before @spoonfest I decided to take a piece of damson from an equally bygone era and get to work on a #slöjken
-
The term is obviously pieced together and so is the approach.
The swung back blade was always inspired by the swords and weapons I used over a dozen years in Japan and thus I went to carve somewhat of a Shirasaya Koshirae.
-
The blade is held in the she sheath by shimming as is traditional in Japan.
The little worm channel in the old piece of damson was allowed to stay.
-
Hollow ground to zero with the most minor flat finish on my @tormek_sharpening and it is one of my most proud pieces to date, despite simple in its appearance.
-
One last Wayfarer is also in stock!
Check them out!

Thanks for looking!
