This little pocket Kwaiken has been on my mind to make for years and the way it came to fruition involves more special people and impossible materials than I would have ever thought.

-

So here it goes.

To make this possible it needed an 8000km trip round-trip to Sweden, two incredible blacksmiths... And a little bit of myself.

-

The blank came from the steel wizard that is @smedjaaspen and is from some antique and long gone Lancashire iron cladded around a layer of nickel and some equally extinct high carbon steel not made anymore.

-

I then forged it with a big batch of slöjd, if you remember, at my friends place @damchristian who's among the finest people, best musicians and most genuinely amazing craftspeople I've ever met.

-

The idea was to have a front pocket, high end Edc knife, slim, capable, stupid sharp and stil elegant with lots of Japan, my long time home, in it.

-

I then hand sanded the blade and all edges to reveal the Sanmai... Well... Gomai... Pattern and did some gentle etching before adsing a sick hollow ground secondary bevel on my @tormek_sharpening

-

The sheath is something nearly as rare and special as the blade.

Made from the most dense, hand finished and revered leather there is, Italian shwell cordovan, this is the most expensive sheath I've ever made.

-

Hand stitched, trippled at the bottom and hand burnished, this is keeping the knife secure and in style.

-

This was a lot of work and literally 100s of steps to completion.

I hope someone will cherish it.
