This Knife is what I want to carry when hunting big game!
The blade is made from high carbon steel by Green River Knives, a company that you would have found traded among tribes and trappers alike in North Americas wilderness as well as in most hunting cabins!
I always loved the long curve, thin blade and excellent slicing abilities of these knives, but the crude handles didn´t feel quite right...
Longhunter - Prototype
I upgraded this great hunting knife with a forced Patina, to keep it from rusting, but this will create an even nicer patina over time when butchering meet and fish.
The handle was shaped according to my preferred ergonomics for hard working knives, with a very positive hand purchase but great choke-up capabilities and thumb ramps for skinning and gutting.
The recurved tip of the knife keeps it from puncturing hides and torsos.
I also added a sharpening choil like on all my knives for easier sharpening and esthetics.
The Deepcarry Sheath is fully embossed on the front, and made from Wickett&Craig Saddle Skirting. Hand stiched using awl and needle, using the best thread there is for longevity and strength, German Tiger Thread.
It features my WCS (Woodsmans Carry System), which allows for vertical, horizontal cross draw and diagonal cross draw or use on a Baldric Knife Sling, for added versatility in the woods.
